We are in need of an experienced DC Operations Manager to take ownership and run the Distribution, Operations and Transport requirements of our Lidcombe Site. This site produces and distributes around 4.8M litres of milk per week and this person is a key part of the puzzle to make it happen!

We are about to enter our peak season – this role is not for the faint hearted!

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, leading and coaching a DC team, including performance management, training and disciplinary actions, running regular tool box talks and staff meetings;
  • Coordinating operations on a 24/7 site, including troubleshooting and liaising with the all appropriate internal and external stakeholders;
  • Driving KPIs - ‘on time and in full’ service and ‘zero injuries’ when meeting our customer needs;
  • Attaining an efficient and effective shift hand over, provided by constant liaison with all Factory shift Production Coordinators and/or cold room and transport Coordinators;
  • Maintaining proactive communication between maintenance, production and the distribution centre and keeping updated on any impacts to KPIs or SLAs that may have effect on overall site deliverables;
  • Managing all quality product issues, stock rotation, cycle counts and stock take within the adhered timeframes;
  • Leading/participating in the selection, recruitment and training of staff;
  • Updating employee details, time keeping and working schedules into SAP Payroll system;
  • Promoting and participating in the Safety Management System and developing a proactive safety culture; be a role model for working safely and promoting a safe working environment; and
  • Actively promoting behaviour in your employees that is consistent with achievement of the KPIs and all other company objectives, such as zero injuries, no compromise attitude to safety, reporting of all near misses and incident investigation.

You will have previous experience running a high volume 24/7 DC Operations in a fast paced and deadline conscious environment preferably within the FMCG industry. You will have previous team leadership experience (80 Plus employees) including coaching and mentoring. Maintaining a high performing culture and continuing to drive best practice. You will need to have strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience using a major WMS/ERP (i.e. SAP) is essential.
